Enjoying Florida Holiday Homes All Year Round

Dec 8th, 2011 Lawrence White

Florida is one of the most beautiful places in all of the United States and for the resident of England looking for somewhere sunny to visit, it cannot be beaten. When travelling to Florida, there are many housing options, including hotels. However, while trying to maximise a holiday to Florida, many choose Florida holiday homes as their lodging choice. There are many reasons why a holiday home makes good sense compared to a hotel.

Year round sun, year round availability

While Florida is seen by many, both here and in the United States, as a wintering spot for retirees, the reality is that there is almost as large of a population of people who only live in Florida during the summer months as well. Because of this, regardless of when your holiday is, there will be holiday homes available throughout Florida. Some property management companies even have homes that are always holiday homes instead of being part time homes that are occupied by the owner a portion of the year.

The weather in Florida is excellent year round as well. While a touch on the warm side during the summer for the average UK resident, the state is rather mild weather wise most of the time. Wintertime is especially nice, as the temperatures are quite comfortable and there is plenty of sunshine. By renting Florida holiday homes, the family will be able to enjoy that sun much more than from a hotel room.

Affordability

The housing market in much of Florida has taken a downturn due to the economy yet the tourism industry has been largely unaffected. What this does translate into is more homes being available as holiday rentals as property managers realise they can make more than they could on a standard rental or lease contract. At the same time though, that extra competition has driven prices down. For the typical holiday home, the price is comparable with a decent quality hotel, yet there is enough room for a family of four to comfortably stay and not feel crammed into a single room or even a small hotel suite.

Access

The other benefit of a holiday home in Florida is that finding a holiday home will give you easier access to some of Florida's tourism activities. For example, most of the theme parks in Florida are fairly centralised and while there are plenty of hotels, a holiday home for a week gives just as good access without being trapped in the theme park even while trying to relax in the evening. After that week at the theme parks, securing a different holiday home in a different part of Florida is just as easy as securing a hotel room. However, if the desire is to spend a week relaxing and being on the beach, nothing can top the beach access, view and ability to relax like a holiday beach house. There are hotels on the beach and some may try to compete, but there is nothing like walking down a set of steps right onto the beach.
